Chinese Idiom : 千言万语

  • 成语 chéng yǔ (literally “set phrases”) or Chinese idioms are a type of traditional Chinese idiomatic expressions, most of which consist of four characters.
  • We have learnt a few idioms here.
  • Today we are going to learn another idiom ” 千言万语 “。
千言万语
meaning: with so much to say; thousands and thousands of words
( qiān ) : thousand link
( yán ) : speech / words link
( wàn ) : ten thousand link
( yǔ ) : language / words link

Sentences:

她心里有千言万语,可一句也说不出来。
Her heart was filled with unspoken words but she failed to utter a single one.
千言万语也说不尽我感激之情。
No words can express my gratitude to you.
